KVS PRT Syllabus

KVS PRT Syllabus 2023: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has released the revised syllabus and exam pattern for the Primary Teacher (PRT) recruitment in 2023. There are 6414 vacancies for PRT posts that will be filled through a written exam followed by an interview. The CBT (Computer Based Test) will have a total of 180 multiple choice questions divided into 4 parts. The exam duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.

KVS PRT Exam Pattern

The KVS PRT exam comprises 4 sections:

  • Part 1 - General English and General Hindi (10 questions each)
  • Part 2 - General Awareness & Current Affairs, Reasoning Ability, Computer Literacy (10, 5, 5 questions)
  • Part 3 - Perspectives on Education and Leadership (60 questions)
  • Part 4 - Concerned Subject (80 questions)

The total marks for the exam are 180 with each question carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The subjects for Part 4 will include Chemistry, Economics, English, Physics, Maths, History, Geography, Biology, Commerce, Computer Science and Hindi.

KVS PRT Syllabus for Concerned Subjects

The syllabus for concerned subjects like Maths, Science, Social Studies will be as per the Class 6-8 NCERT curriculum. Primary level concepts, principles and theories will be covered.

For Maths, topics will include Number System, Fractions, ratios, percentages, profit-loss, simple interest, mensuration, geometry, algebra, etc.

Science section will cover basic concepts in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from school textbook. Topics include Matter, Atoms, Acids-Bases, Plants, Human Body, Forces, Light, Electricity etc.

Social Studies part will have general understanding on History, Geography, Polity, Economics related to India and the World.

The concerned subject paper will test how much the candidate knows about the fundamental topics taught in primary classes.
